Debbie our founding team member explains why we will be walking to another ICONIC building that has stood the test of time Machu Picchu.
"After the doctor had told me I had Bowel Cancer (January 2018) when I thought Iwas just a bit under the weather - I was absorbing the news in a state ofshock, when a nurse asked me if I was ok. For no known reason I respondedwith “I’m going to Peru”. 1 year on from bowel cancer I was dealingwithlung cancer. So 2 surgeries, chemo and other personalchallenges along the way I found I needed to make it all count. So from a fewrandom words, the support from a building full of amazing people and huge doseof music which smoothed out the bumps and helped me manage the metaphoricalmountain I had climbed, I called a few friends with an idea and spoke toMaggie's and so it beganMAGGIES ROCK PERU"
Debbie's passion for music (with a huge part in her recovery journey being a particular band the Foo Fighters and the determination to rock out with Dave Grohl) and the amazing team at Dundee Maggie's Centre she called a few friends and asked them to join her, so here they are delayed a bit by covid-19 but still as determined as ever to be there with her.
